# B3-A — Trust & safety mechanics: marketplace platforms

## Scope
Observable trust/safety mechanisms of three childcare marketplaces — Niania.pl, Sitly, Babysits — as documented in the nine specified local captures. This artifact does not assess popularity, effectiveness, legality, or make recommendations.

## Method
The deterministic local extract (`reports/evidence/B3-A-local-extract.md`) was used as the primary navigation aid. Original JSON captures were read only to resolve ambiguities (Sitly had no keyword-context excerpts; Babysits terms needed keyword lookup for payment/mediation/liability text). Every substantive row cites the original capture filename and its captured URL. Marketing labels (e.g. "verified", "sprawdzonych") are treated as claims unless the capture documents the mechanism behind them.

## 3. Cross-platform observations (separated from evidence)

- **No captured platform performs documented background checks.** Sitly explicitly disclaims them (`B3-Sitly-01.json`); Babysits shifts screening to members ("own screening", `B3-Babysits-02.json`); Niania uses "sprawdzonych"/"zaufanych" labels without a documented mechanism (`B3-Niania-02.json`).
- **Operator role is narrow.** Sitly and Babysits frame themselves as mediators/low-touch connectors, not agencies; Babysits' terms explicitly name the contract a "Mediation Agreement" and limit its own liability (`B3-Babysits-02.json`). Sitly states it is "nie agencją pracy ani agencją opieki" (`B3-Sitly-01.json`).
- **Safety content is fragile.** Two of three dedicated safety URLs returned 404 in capture: `B3-Sitly-03.json` (https://www.niania-sitly.pl/bezpieczenstwo) and `B3-Babysits-01.json` (https://www.babysits.com/safety/). Recoverable safety text for Sitly lives inside non-safety pages (`B3-Sitly-01.json`, `B3-Sitly-02.json`); for Babysits, the dedicated safety page is absent and safety framing is distributed across terms/privacy/help nav.
- **Payment models differ.** Sitly monetises via Premium membership subscriptions only (`B3-Sitly-01.json`); Babysits adds a payment-processing rail via Stripe for family→sitter payments (`B3-Babysits-02.json`); Niania's payment/care-payment mechanics were not captured.
- **Human involvement surfaces as complaint handling + manual review** at Sitly (`B3-Sitly-01.json`) and Babysits (`B3-Babysits-02.json`, Art. 5.2), not as vetting.

## 4. Limitations & unresolved questions

- **Babysits 404.** `B3-Babysits-01.json` is a 408-char 404 stub at https://www.babysits.com/safety/. No dedicated Babysits safety page is in the capture set; "Trust & Safety" appears only as a nav link (`B3-Babysits-02.json`, `B3-Babysits-03.json`), target un-captured.
- **Sitly safety page 404.** `B3-Sitly-03.json` is a 404 at https://www.niania-sitly.pl/bezpieczenstwo. Safety guidance is reconstructed only from in-page sections of `-01`/`-02`.
- **Policy-page scope gap.** Only Babysits' Terms and Privacy were captured; no Terms/Privacy for Niania.pl or Sitly were captured (only footers "Regulamin/Polityka prywatności" at Niania, "Warunki korzystania/Politykę prywatności" at Sitly). Dispute, liability, insurance, and data-handling for Niania and Sitly are therefore not established in capture.
- **Niania depth.** All three Niania captures are homepage only (text ~5.8–6.0k chars); mechanism pages (cennik, regulamin, polityka, centrum pomocy) are linked but un-captured.
- **Review/reference mechanics undocumented.** Niania's "sprawdzonych referencji" claim and Sitly's "Ekomi opinie" widget are observed but the underlying verification mechanics are not in any capture.
- **Effectiveness / legal status** of any mechanism is out of scope and not assessed.

## 5. B3-A handoff to B3-B (next research, no niche pick, no legal advice)
B3-B should research, without selecting a niche or giving legal advice:
1. Capture and analyse the un-captured policy pages: Niania.pl (Regulamin, Polityka prywatności, Cennik, Centrum pomocy), Sitly (Warunki korzystania, Polityka prywatności, Pomoc) — to resolve dispute, liability, insurance, and data-handling gaps.
2. Re-fetch the two 404 safety URLs (Sitly `/bezpieczenstwo`, Babysits `/safety/`) and identify where each platform's trust/safety content actually lives, or whether it has been removed/redirected.
3. Document the reference/review mechanics behind Niania's "sprawdzonych referencji" and Sitly's "Ekomi opinie" — what is actually checked, by whom, and whether sitters/parents can see it.
4. Map each platform's human/operator touch-points (support, complaint handling, manual review) and response expectations from the captured terms/help pages.
5. Compare the payment rails end-to-end (Sitly membership-only vs Babysits Stripe-mediated vs Niania un-captured) for how funds, refunds, and disputes between family and carer are handled.
6. Record observable DSA/governance signals (Niania footer "DSA") and any in-capture age/identity/verification artefacts (Babysits min-age 15, identity-doc verification data) for B3-B synthesis.
